Hi!
My name is Samantha Voelker and I am a new International Business Development intern here in San Antonio’s Economic Development Department and I will be contributing to the blog on a regular basis over the coming months. I am currently an MBA student at UTSA and I will be graduating in December of 2013. I recently returned from an international immersion program to Uruguay. It was a great experience and we visited many unique companies and businesses in Montevideo.
Before returning to graduate school, I worked for nearly four years at the San Antonio advertising agency The PM Group as a Media Compliance Supervisor. I worked on accounts like Pizza Hut, Thomas J Henry Law Firm and the San Antonio Spurs. Go Spurs Go!
My undergraduate degree was in International Studies and French from Trinity University. During my time there, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Paris for a semester, which was wonderful and a great way to enhance my language skills.
I am very excited to combine my background in international studies with my graduate work in business at this internship. I’m also very excited to use my French and Spanish skills to help grow our international audience!
