It’s not often that a fully formed Fortune 500 company is born in your city.

We’d like to give a big welcome to CST Brands (CST) as the newest large company headquartered in San Antonio.  The company was recently spun off from San Antonio-based Valero and is now the owner/operator of the convenience stores which normally sell Valero’s gas.

Although the company is less than a month old, their 2012 sales of over $13 billion will place them around #215 in next year’s ranking of the largest companies based in the United States. CST Brands joins the area’s five other Fortune 500 companies Valero, Tesoro, USAA, NuStar, and Clear Channel in calling the Alamo City home.

We look forward to watching our youngest corporate citizen as they grow their business across North America.

And a CST store downtown would be a great location!
