City of San Antonio Economic Development

The Culture of Business

NetWORKS Event tomorrow!

The City of San Antonio’s Small Business Office will host the first ever San Antonio NetWORKS on October 24, 2012 at Geekdom inside the Weston Centre.  The event will give local small, minority, and women-owned businesses specializing in information technology (IT), the opportunity to network with larger IT firms and to learn about upcoming procurement opportunities with public agencies and private sector companies.

“This event is a way to build relationships between our local small, minority and women-owned businesses in the IT field and major players in the technology industry,” said Alejandra Lopez, Assistant Director of the City of San Antonio Economic Development Department.

The IT firms will meet one-on-one with representatives from Cisco, Hewlett Packard, Hitachi and IBM, allowing them to learn how to become licensed vendors, service providers, and authorized dealers. They will also receive presentations from technology buyers from the City of San Antonio, San Antonio Water System, CPS Energy and VIA Metropolitan Transit Authority regarding upcoming contracting opportunities.

Interested small, minority, and women-owned IT businesses are asked to visit www.sanantonio.gov/EDD to sign up for this event.
