City of San Antonio Economic Development

The Culture of Business

Forbes ranks San Antonio No.13 in Forbes’ “Best Places for Business and Careers” list

Great post from the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation on yet another Forbes ranking!

Forbes recently ranked San Antonio as No.13 on its “Best Places for Business and Careers” list, beating out thriving metropolises such as Seattle, Houston, Atlanta, and San Francisco. The criteria used to rank the top cities ranged from percentage of unemployment, job growth, cost of living, and net migration, to name a few.

This ranking is reflective of San Antonio’s pulsating business environment – largely due to the city’s diversity as it pertains to people, culture, companies, and major industries. The Alamo City has always thrived in tourism, held a strong military presence, and pushed towards providing the best healthcare possible for its residents. San Antonio is ideal, not only for large businesses, but small business as well – a large reason why the unemployment rate remains low in comparison to many other national areas. San Antonio’s positive economic growth is nowhere near stagnation, and if our current trends continue we can expect an even higher ranking next year.
